I think I might be insane lol

Am I crazy or what?? Still trying to get my 20 gallon to cycle.... went to walmart and they had the cutest little 3 gallon 360 view aquarium on clearance so what did I do... buy it of course lol. Question #1--- So how do you go about cycling a 3 gallon aquarium? Question #2---When it is cycled any suggestions on type of fish... I was thinking a betta.... LFS recommended a betta and a couple of drawf frogs?
What do ya'll think?

bettas should be in a 5 gallon tank at least..... to cycle you can do a fishless cycle..... and for fish you can put a few cories, snails, or cherry shrimp

you are insane just like the rest of us LOL ...3g would be fine for a betta but I wouldnt add the frogs also..they wouldnt stand much of a chance at getting food from the betta piglet

you can cycle it the same way you are cycling your other tank just use smaller portions of however you are achieving this....congrats and get pics for us

I agree with Shawnie about the frogs. If you are interested in inverts, a cherry shrimp tank would be a great choice for a 3 gallon. Don't add them with a betta though.

I would definitely agree with everyone here and put a betta in there! Just make sure you have a good filter, and heater! Looks like the very first signs of MTS! Have fun!

I agree....sounds like we'll have a new btta on the forum!

I also agree a 3g is too small to add the ADF. If you choose to go with an ADF over a betta, just get one. Allow 2.5g's for an ADF, they like to stretch their little flippers.

You might look into some nice Heterandria formosa. They do well in small containers like that and swim around nicely. They are quite small so they can go for years in a small tank like that. If you give them a little java moss, they will also reward you with a few fry. They are livebearers that seldom grow to over an inch and the males are even smaller.
A pair of my Heterandria.
