Question about quarantines tank.

Question about quarantines tank.

I know that I’m missing something or I’m not really understanding, so here it goes

When you have to quarantines a sick fish.
Don’t you have to cycle the hospital tank first.

To me, when a fish is first starting to be sick, we do not have time to cycle the tank because it take about a month to cycle.

So what do we need to do before putting the sick fish in the hospital tank.

Anybody know

Great question
If you keep extra filter sponges in your established tank (for at least 2 weeks) it'll help quickly seed a Q tank.
They don't have to be fancy....just simple filter and heater. The size depends on what size fish you keep.
Here's a link to a DIY Q tank: Quick and dirty quarantine setup

i think that you can also use a big tote or tupperware, like most people use for storage. you can buy them just about anywhere, and aslong as they have never seen soap or any detergent, all you need is a filter and heater.
