how many fish at one time

i have a 29 gallon tank that is in the second week of cycling and i was wondering, if i was goin to add a school of 6 fish, how many do i add at one time? do i have to quarintine each fish separatly? this could take a long time if so.

i would add no more than 3 fish at a time to not impact the bio load. Also keep an eye on your parameters in the next couple of days.

Good morning. Personally I wouldn't add more than 2 or 3 at a time. Keep an eye on your readings. If everything is good after a week I would add 2 or 3 more. You can quarantine the fish together in the same quarantine tank

Add two or three at a time after it's fully cycled. I made the mistake of adding 6 Pristella's along with some TSS, I just had to use more.

Good luck

I am going to buck the trend here a little and say it depends on how you are cycling and how much ammonia your tank is processing at the time of adding fish. Also if you keep live plants as they process alot of ammonia as well.
My tank was processing alot of ammonia (it tooks 4 months to cycle) and I had alot of live plants. I (accidently-long story) added 14 Cardinals and have never seen a hint of ammonia. Not that I would say this is the norm, but if you are processing alot of ammonia it seems a waste to starve the bacteria you have worked so hard to grow.

I agree with nate and the type of fish you add makes a difference as well as the size of the tank...although the 14 is a bit much, lol, (you got lucky nate ) but cardinals are pretty small...
