Matt: I'm sorry for your loss.

I wish you get another Fancy female guppy for your tank. They are such curious and playful. Livebearers do have major risk of death due to birth labor. I keep some (swordtails, guppies, platties) and have lost my share of pregnant ladies that showed nothing like yours. It's sad.

You did your best.

Matt, I am so glad that you have her sons with you to carry on her legacy and beauty. Maybe...when the time is right...you could get another female and try to breed some grandfish in her honor! If you kept up with the generations you could keep your fish with you indefinitely...

The first platy to have fry in my tank died shortly afterwards and I was really upset, especially since none of her babies survived. When my favorite fish, Sunburst (the one in my avatar) was close to birthing I was an absolute wreck over it. But now I have 3 of her fry and she is fine (and pregnant again!) but I am glad to have her offspring to remember her by when her time does come.
