Have I poisoned my tank?

Dumped gravel from a wet paper bowl (like the kind you get a hotdog in) into my tank (after picking out coral). I realized the water looked kind of hazy, like tiny paper particles when with the dampish gravel. Think I'm going to have a bleached/dead fish on my hands?

I changed 35% of the water ASAP and put in a bit of extra prime (really hard to dose it for 5 gallons anyway). Also cranked the filter, which has pretty new carbon in it.

Should I change more water?

It shouldn't be a huge problem, but changing a bit more of the water won't hurt anything.

K. Took out another 20, put back 10. Since his pH is 8 right now and the tap is 7 I don't want to do too much in too short a time. But then again, perhaps that's better than bleach . . . Gah.

There wouldn't be much bleach in the paper (chlorine evaporates fairly quickly) and the Prime would have neutralized any that was left.
The fibers are really the only concern, and the filter will likely pick those up in a couple of hours.

Awesome. I had the same thought about the Prime, but wasn't sure. Thanks!

most of the paper , even the hot dog wraps, are recycled paper now a days...theres not many chemicals and they are environment friendly... so use your net to remove any floating pieces, and tomorrow when you wake up, do another water change and rinse your filter media in some of that water(you will have pulp residue im sure) ...
