Hi Lori, welcome to the forum !

you didn't use any detergents or soap on the tank, right?

did you add anything to the water, aside from a dechlorinator?

btw, you don't have fish in there, do you ??

Hi welcome to Fish Lore

I would echo Joy's questions. Did you clean it with anything before using it? How about the previous owners?

For your safety and privacy, I'd also like to suggest that you change your user name to something other than your e-mail address. This is a public forum and easily accesed through various search engines.
Here's how to request a new user name

Good luck, I hope you figure out whats going on.

I talked to previous owners. So neither them or I have washed anything with detergent. I think I have rinsed the gravel well enough, and evertyting else that has gone into the tank.I did turn off the 2 air stones I have in there and the suds went away.I am still not sure why they are forming though.ANd Yes No fishies yet..I'm not that new

Hi Lori
Welcome to FishLore

If I were you, since you have not added any fish yet, I would empty the tank and rinse everything really well. Partial water changes would gradually remove whatever is causing the suds but how will you figure out if it's all out of your tank before you add fish? It would cost you some time but that's better than losing the fish you eventually put in the tank.

my 29 gallon has the same problem, only when the airstone is on, i get alot of bubbles at the surface. If i run i finger thru the bubbles they dissapate rapidly, i think that mabey its just alot of oxygination. idk, let me know guys, it would help alot.
