Yes to the tetras, but IMO only keep one gourami per tank.
They are like bettas, and fight when kept together.

all depend on size of tank (surface area) and how tank is aquascaped. For small tank such as yourrs, one male sounds good unless add 2 females with him.

well that was my original though was 1 male and 2 females, they shouldn't if i do that right.

I had 1 male and 3 females ...the females fought between themselves and killed each other and the male killed the last female before he died from what I believe was irridovirus.

ok, i might think about a different fish then, cause i want al least more than 2 fish per species in my stock, with the pleco being the exception
