New to site

Hello Everyone, I am new to site and had a couple of questions. I have a 29 gallon and have 1 blue gourami and 1 gold gourami I also have 2 tiger barbs and 1 rainbow shark. I have had the tank with fish in it now for 2.5 months. First question is do i have to many fish in tank. And other question is last week I added 2 kissing gouramins but they never made it pass 3 days. Now my tiger barbs and both gouramis where chasing and picking at the 2 kissing gouramis. I wanted to know is it possible they died of stress. And last question is i think one of my tiger barbs is pregnant how could I tell if its is. Stomach is bigger than when i fisrt bought it. I feed all fish once a day

Welcome to Fish Lore. I don't know about the gouramis or the tiger barbs for that matter but just wanted to welcome you. Somebody will be along shortly to answer any questions you have.

No kissing gouramis belong in a 29 gallon. I'm surprised that your blue and gold are getting along, honestly, but if you aren't having problems then that's great news! I would not suggest adding any more gouramis. I think if you add 4 more tiger barbs for a total of 6, your tank would be fully stocked and it would be a really interesting combination of fish.

alright am glad to know that i really didnt know much about kissing gouramis I had bought them becuase my 2 little kids wanted them. Now about tiger barb if I add more will I have a problem with them messing with gouramis or my little rainbow shark. And yeah the two gouramis get along pretty good. They all actually get along good. Which i am surprised myself

Welcome to Fishlore

I would deffinetly up your number of tiger barbs to a total of six. They are happier in a school and your other fish will be less stressed as well. Besides, even if they are peaceful now, you never know when they might decide to pick on other fish. Its better to be safe than sorry
