Well, the cat woke me up early this morning wanting to play with my toes, so I got up a 4:45. Hubby had already left for work. (Sure glad I dont have to go to work that early) lol. As usual I put on the coffee, let the dogs out, and turned on the aquarium lights. I have 38 new platty babies in a breeder box, so I decided to do a water parameter test just to be sure everything was good for them. My amonia was up to .50 and my
pH was down to 6.0. I've never had a problem with the ph before. I started a
water change right away. After replacing 30% of the water and adding condioner with a ph
buffer water tested fine. As I was putting away the conditoner I decided to rearange the bottom of my tank stand. Thats when I found one of my mystery snails in the bottomof a box. I don't know how long he has been there. I almost chunked him but decided to see if he might be alive, well he is. I have looked for the other one but have not found it yet. Sometimes they hide under things. Hopefully it is still in the tank. I gues the escapee crawled out around the filter somehow. It's like taking care of kids. You never know what.s going to happen next.
