Should I add another filter?

Hello Everyone, this may seem like a very silly question. Anyway, I have the 2 old Power Filters from my 10 and 29 gallon tank. I was thinking about adding either the Power Filter 10 or 30 to my 29 gallon tank. However, it would sit right next to the Aqua Clear filter and I was not sure if it would filter my water better or if I should just leave 1 filter I have now? Thanks!

I personally run two filters on all of my tanks (paranoia). Two filters will keep your water cleaner. However, if your water parameters are fine and you're not overstocked, I would say it would be personal choice. It definitely could not hurt.

Hope this helps!

The more filtration the better. As long as the fish you have stocked can handle the current.

Yup, you'll have super clean water. If your fish can handle the current, like Aquarist48 said, as long as your fish can cope with the current. On my new fifteen I'll have two filters just be super safe

Ok thanks everyone, I was able to put the Power Filter 30 right next to my Aqua Clear Filter 50 that means I have over 400 GPH!

There's no such thing as TOO MUCH filtration. The cleaner it is the better, like everyone else has already said, current may be a factor.400GPH isn't really that much on a 29 gallon aquarium.

Something to keep in mind, you don't need to add another filter to increase filtration capacity, just add extra media.More surface area of the media will give the bacteria extra footing, increasing the filtering capacity.just FYI

I have been out and about diving and getting burned.

I will be in and out regularly, drumming up work, rebuilding my aquarium collection. Just don't know where to start yet.
