Hey.
I feed my fish blood worms and tropical fish flakes with coulor enhancer. You should go back to the store where you bought your fish and get some advise from the manager or someone that knows alot about your fish.

he said planted tank and bloodworm and other live foods. they seem to have settled in fine. just to check before i question the shop i bought them from are the male and the female the same to look at but the male has darker body and more red on it? as i believe i have been given a Microrasbora erythromicron as a female.

Hey. I found something, hope this helps a bit.

Galaxy Rasboras are believed to be part of the Microrasbora family.
"It is small 12-15mm; mature, ie. gravid females found at 12mm size. Slight sexual dimorphism with females only slightly less colourful. Intensity of scarlet fins are unaltered by mood, stress, courtship etc. Well conditioned males develop a red colouration to the chest-to-belly area."

That's a beautiful fish, but it's not a galaxy rasbora. The males and females have the same coloration.

Yeah, your little guy is defenately an emerald dwarf.

Microrasbora erythromicron is a tiny fish. Barely an inch long when full-grown, it might go unnoticed in a dealer’s tank. Although it is placed in the genus Microrasbora, that will likely change soon because it has been discovered that they are actually more closely related to danios than to rasboras.
It is a pinkish-orange fish with up to 15 emerald green bars along its side. There is a black spot at the base of the caudal fin. Males have reddish-orange in their fins, while females have clear fins and are a bit less colorful. It has a high body that gives it a stocky appearance. In happy, well-cared-for fish, the emerald green looks like it is glowing and is set off by the bright fins. The males spar and dance for one another, and the sight of a healthy group in a well-planted tank is not something you’ll soon forget.
