Hi Willis:
I have an Aqua Tech on my 10 gallon, works fine. You will need a substrate (gravel or the like). You will certainly need an API test kit to test the perameters of your water. Decorations and or plants if you choose. OH, a heater as well.
Those are my first thoughts-all before you get fishies.
Have fun and try to plan ahead the best you can.

Congrats on the new tank,
is it your first aquarium? If so i would start off with hardy fish, like guppies or platies. Neon tetras are also good, but you would need at least 5 since they are schooling fish. Remember the 1 gallon per inch of fish rule, you can see characteristics od each fish here:

trust me, this wont be your last tank. You'll develop MTS soon like all of us here have.

i would probably house a DG with a couple of cories, a guppy colony with some cories too, or just a large school of tetras, as long as you dont over stock it
