wc last night

Hi guys, I haven't posted in awhile... but I do have another question again.
I did about a 70% wc last night (a huge water change)... my question is, why is the water still cloudy? I know every one has mentioned the bacteria bloom as a reason the last time I asked... but shouldn't the water be clearer after changing most of it out? Next question... can't remember what it's called, but is it safe/okay to add the stuff to make the water clear? Will it harm the fish or crash the cycle? I can't remember the name of the product but have seen it in stores.

I must be doing some thing right so far knock on wood, I haven't lost any fish.
All eight fish seem happy and healthy, so thats a huge plus. I want to add one or two more fish this weekend. Some thing a little bigger then what I have in the tank now, but also hardy. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the info/help, it's greatly appreciated.

It could be cloudy just from kicking up some of the waste that was in there. As long as your perimeters are ok I wouldn't worry about it too much. I've had it happen to me before too, it went away in a couple of days. IMO I wouldn't add anything to the water that you didn't absolutely have too. I know some people have used these products. I think CapeKate has used them before and loved it. (Not sure if it was Kate or not). I'm just very leery of putting any chemical in the water. See what other members have to say as well.

Hi mae..theres a ton of products out there to clear up tanks but EVERYONE of them will kill whatever cycle you have going on ..as well as make the pH crash fast.....both could kill the fish...daily partial water changes are what does the trick as well as running fresh carbon that you change out every 3 weeks or so..not the filter media just the carbon....have you finished cycling yet? what is the ammonia, nitrites, and nitrate reading? if you have cycled, then its probably from being overstocked, not enough vacuuming, or overfeeding
