YIKES 92, Going on vaction tomorrow for a week HELP ASAP

Okay so i went to feed my fish tonight, and my fish tank has risen to 92 degrees , NOT GOOD .

I turned my heater all the way down to zero.

What could cause this, it was a hot day today but i dont think that hot.

my 29 gallon is at 82 went up 2 degrees along with my other 5 gallon in my batheroom went up like a degree, but the tank on my desk went up 12 degrees with in like 8 hours.

What should i do, water change ASAP, leave it.

The worst part about it all i leave tomorrow 10am to new york for a week.

Should i transfer my fish to my big tank,

Yea any help would be great, Im scared water changes, ect will be to much of a shock.

If the fish are acting fine, I would just let the temp. lower by itself.
Where in NY you going (if you don't mind me asking)?

Maybe add a few icecubes to the tank. They will slowly melt & bring down the temp.
Albany is about 2 hrs. north of me. And the city is 2 hrs. south, lol.
Have a nice vacation!

If you do put ice cubes in the tank, it would probably be a good idea to put them in a plastic bag so that the water from the melting ice (which probably contains chlorine) doesn't mix with the tank water.

Open your hood and put a fan near. Keep your lights turned off. Put baggies of ice in the tank if you really need to lower the temp. If you have a bubbler use that also. That's about all I have fer ideas.

I am suspect of your heater and would not leave it in there for a week without being able to watch it. Either buy a new one, or if you house is bound to stay 75ish, just lose it.

Edit: I see now that I read the post again that you are long gone. Hope all is well!
