Ok so I want to have live plants and read about the watts per gallon issue.

Found a good deal on two 24" 130w lights thinking they would fit on the spaces on my 55g tank. Well two problems they are designed to fit on brackets and are about .5" two long to fit in the slotted area.

Question is there a bracket that will fit on the center section of the tank to make these fit or do I sell them and go and get a 48"?

If i understand it right - i don't think there is a bracket out there for what you want. However, i think if you get a metal coathanger - from a laundy/drycleaner/target - somebody, you can cut a piece of this out and then shape it to make the bracket you need. Of course this is if i understand what you are trying to do.
