cleaning inside of tank

Hi, I recently got a 35 gallon tank from a friend and it has this white stuff on the inside that wont come off. I tried scrubbing with an alge pad with no success. This stuff is in a line and looks like the tank had water sitting so the line is where the water level was, right about middle. HELP

Its probably just calcium or mineral deposits. To use chemicals would be risky and you'd have to make sure to flush with hot water very very good!

I had this same problem with my 55 gal. tank. I took a razor blade and scraped a razor blade acrossed it & it worked beautifully! Once you fill it with water if theres anything noticably left over after the razor, you wont see it when its full of water past that line!

You can use white vinegar full strength on it and it should come off. If it doesn't come off fill the tank with water, add vinegar and let it sit over night to soak. scrub it good . Be sure to rinse the tank well after emptying the water out.
