Mts

HAHA, I was just reading the definition of MTS in the dictionary (multiple tank syndrome) I wasn't aware such a thing existed, but just yesterday I was thinking about getting a third tank set up even though I have barely established my second. It looks like the addiction has set in, my mrs is going to go spare. I am thinking of having a betta in the third, will he be lonley on his own?

Bettas prefer to have a territory all to themselves. A 5 gal should do fine, I would not go larger than a 10 for fear of stressing him out. You are the only friend your betta will want. If you want to get a betta, I would also recommend live plants or silk over plastic. The plastic will hurt their fins.

Yes, I too have MTS. I have no plans on trying to change that. I am proud of my syndrome and of my tanks.

I agree, most bettas are solitary fish. Some have tried them in community tanks. A few tolerate it. Many have had disastrous results.
Here's some info on keeping a betta:

Once MTS sets in there's no cure. lol

Congrats on the MTS!!! I think a betta is a great idea. I agree with everyone that has already posted...bettas prefer to be on their own. They are such personable little fish and are wonderful pets!
