Population Control ?

I would like to have some Live Bearers in my tank but I am concern about having a population explosion.
Do you have any ideas about how I can maintain a stable population ?
The only thing I can think of is an Angle fish but I do not know if that would work for long.

You can have all males...that way there are no chance of babies at all.

you can feed your fry to allot of your existing fish if you get too many ...im not sure how you feel about feeding fry to other fish, but live fry is very healthy for alot of fish if the parents are taken care of....feeders and fry from LFS are icky and are taken care of so poorly, that if you breed them yourself, its much better for the fish to eat

To control your tank population you can either buy all males or all females (warning:females may already be pregnant) and even if you get one batch one or two might survive cause the fish will eat the rest.
hope this helps

having an angel in there is a good idea!

one of my friends has a community tank full of swordtails and guppies...there's a pair of angels in with them too...have seen a lot of babies time and again but presumeably the angels keep on devouring them!

This is the exact reason why when I decided I wanted Endler's I went with all males...they're smaller and more colourful too. I call that tank 'the frat house'

You can Add Dwarf Cichlids which they will also devour your fry. Trust me they will devour them...I had my Molly Fry in a breeder box and my Rams, Angels, and Laetacara Dorsiger kept trying to eat them through the box.
