Mysterious Platy Death

Okay guys, I know we always get the "Why did my fish die?" questions, and it's normally the case of an un-cycled tank. That isn't the case here, and I'm truly mystified. I found a platy dead in my 29 gallon community tank last night, so I immediately checked the water. Readings were 0 ammonia, 0 nitrItes, 10 nitrAtes. I checked him and the rest of the tank...no signs of ICH, fungal infection, or any other illness that I could tell. I'm obviously keeping a very close eye on them, and am going to do a water change sometime today a) just to be on the safe side and b) because it's water change day and all my tanks get them weather the readings say they need them or not. Any ideas would be appreciated...I mainly want to make sure that whatever caused his death isn't going to hurt any of my other fish.

How old or if you don't know, how big was the platy? Your platy might have died through old age and got an organ failure. Something you can't see from the outside.

Sometimes fish can die of anything, including disease, maybe deformation. Another way is if you have a female fish and a male fish, becuase the male is sometimes ALWAYS at the female, tiring her out.

The tanks is all male, so that wasn't the case. I'd only had the guy for 6 months or so, but he was full grown, so that may have been the case.

Maybe it was just old age, because some Platys can be two years old when you but them...
