Okay guys, I know we always get the "Why did my fish die?" questions, and it's normally the case of an un-cycled tank. That isn't the case here, and I'm truly mystified. I found a platy dead in my 29 gallon community tank last night, so I immediately checked the water. Readings were 0
ammonia, 0 nitrItes, 10 nitrAtes. I checked him and the rest of the tank...no signs of
ICH, fungal infection, or any other illness that I could tell. I'm obviously keeping a very close eye on them, and am going to do a
water change sometime today a) just to be on the safe side and b) because it's water change day and all my tanks get them weather the readings say they need them or not. Any ideas would be appreciated...I mainly want to make sure that whatever caused his death isn't going to hurt any of my other fish.
