| catching fish. OMG its hard! help okay. i have zebra danios and one is being aggressive to others so i wanted to separate him from rest for a while. How do you catch these things?? They are SOOOO FAST and ZIPPY! I wasted half hour to catch and gave up. Are there any tips or tricks to catch one specific fish?? I mean i could get a huge net and netting a lot at once would be easy but i am trying to use 4 inch net and catch that one fish and its not working. |

| If you can obtain another net, you can use one as a chase net and chase the fish into your catch net.
You can also take a two liter bottle, cut off the top, and invert it. Paper clip in place or something, then put bait in it, and just let it sit until the bully goes in. You might catch some that you don't want, but hopefully you'll get the bully and be able to isolate him more easily. |

| That's the same method I used to catch some mighty fast chromide. In a very planted tank. Worked great! I've put food in a net also and it worked. |

| basically you cut the top off of the bottle, flip it around, place it back inside the bottle. your turning the top from a 'spout' to a 'funnel'. |

| What helps with top feeders is to put a bit of food at the top then scoop them up in a cup or something. You get a little bit of water into where ever you are putting it, but thats okay. I think its also a lot less stressful for the fish, they don't realize they've been caught until its too late.
Thats what I do at least. |

| I can relate to your trouble catching a fish. It's nearly impossible to catch my slippery peacock eel with a net. When I clean my tank, I use my syphon system to remove most of the water. I only leave a few inches of water, and then it's so much easier to catch the "hard to catch". Sorry that this method is only for when you want to remove fish before cleaning your tank and not for just catching a fish for relocation. |

| I just suggested the paper clips in case you needed something to secure the two pieces together. I've never actually used that method. I think you cut the bottle after it goes from skinny to thick. (So descriptive, I know) And put the bait in the main body of the bottle. |

| The thing I have done to catch super speedy baby fish, is to lower the net into the water, near where they are, and just make it stay still for about a minute, the fish grow used to its presence, and then as soon as the fish in question wants to investigate, POUNCE!
Well, it works for me and tiny baby fishies anyway. |

| I just spent the last 2 hours moving fry from tank to tank. It's unbelieveable how fast they can be. It took me nearly an hour to catch 12 baby Kribs. Thats one fish every 5mins!!! As for catching Danio's, I only know one sure fire method. My Wife catches them for me. I can't do it! |

| still no luck. i tried bottle too. i got 1 wrong zebra danio inside there. The bully was still outside ruling the tank. I think he is one of the smartest fish around! As soon as he figures there is trouble, he goes to bottom of the tank and act as if he is the most innocent kid around. lol. and when i walk away a bit, he starts chasing and pecking the outta everyone else. to solve the problem a bit i added 2 more of them. So atleast there are 7 others to share his chasing. lol.. should i add more decorations? u think it will help? |

| bringing their numbers up will probably help out quite a bit. some plants, real or fake, might be a good idea, anything to break up the line of site a little bit should help with chasing. |
