Completely bummed... Tank's gonna have to wait.

Just wanted to thank everyone who has helped me with my ideas for a tank I was going to get soon (around June) - but it's not happening anytime soon.

Our car was "totaled" recently (nobody got seriously hurt, thankfully. Just an old car) - and since my wife and I have to have transportation to get to work, we had no choice but to get a new car. Unfortunately, this completely blew my budget and I have to re-save up for a nice 30 gallon tank.

I do still have an old 10 gallon tank that I might use for a betta in the near future, but for now we're still getting other "real life" stuff together.

In the meantime, I'll be hanging around lurking, filling my imaginary fish tank vicariously through you all.

Thanks again guys.

I'm really glad no one was hurt.
You might want to check out FreeCycle.org in your area. Sometimes people list tanks they no longer want.

Your 10g would make a great home for a betta.

Glad to hear no one was hurt. You can also check around at yard sales. You never know what you will find.

Thanks guys. I'll take a look sometime, but still won't be on the schedule I was thinking as it's currently not on our priority list... Plus, I guess for my first major aquarium I wanted to get brand new equipment and everything (I was thinking that if I decided to upgrade to 55g later, I would go the second-hand route).

Who knows, might be a blessing to start out small anyway. I'd have good bacteria to move into a bigger tank when I finally get around to it.

Sorry to hear it, xfish. I have it when real life gets in the way of my hobbies!! Glad no one was hurt though. Just consider this some added anticipation time, which will make it all the sweeter when it happens.
