If your pH of tap is higher than tank water, why not simple small water changes (20-30% at a time w/o vacumming the gravel)) provided that tank water is free of ammonia (NH3), and nitrite (NO2), especially NH3.
If tank water contain NH3 and/or NO2, do one small water change and post the reading, including pH. .

Welcome to Fish Lore

I'm sorry about your fish.
Being your tank is so new, It's a good guess it's going through the nitrogen cycle.
Here's some info to read about it here: The Aquarium Nitrogen Cycle

I echo cerianthus in wondering what your readings are for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.

I also agree. I don't think the ph is what you need to be worried about. It looks like you just started your tank. It needs to go through the nitrogen cycle before it will be "safe" for your fishies. There is alot of great threads and advice here on this site so "Welcome to fishlore" and don't be shy about any questions.

Hello Hydra. Sorry about your loss and tank problems. Please don't add any chemicals for adjusting pH levels. It's too unstable and can even lead to your ph crashing. You'll be alot better off adjusting with your tap water chlorine removed of course. Good luck and hope things get better soon.
