| I have not, the Walmarts in my area do not sell fish anylonger. If they did sell them I might but wouldn't be thrilled about it. I'm very happy with the LFS in my area. They've been there for 50 years, used to go there with my Mom when I was a kid and I trust the people there.

| I don't because the wal-marts close to me have dead fish constantly. My LFS has a very knowledgeable staff, good selection, and if they don't have what I want they can normally order it for me or send me to a reliable store to get it. |

| Yeah, it's the only supplier close to me. I do pay attention to see if the fish are all alive in the tank, and if they look healthy. I have driven into the city, 50 miles away and looked at PetSmart and PetCo but they do not look any better, and I have not had any better luck with them. The only plus to the pet stores is that they usually have more of a selection. |

I'm ashamed of it but I have. My latest fish purchase besides off aquabid was at Walmart. These are my Angelfish babies from there |

| Well because I've never seen a Walmart where they take good care of their fish. This place had channel catfish with ICK. I guess I just don't like to give my money and support to places who don't have the fish's best interest at heart. I'd rather support hobbiyst or the Ma and Pa shops. But on a side note I love my Angels dearly and who knows where they would have ended up if I didn't get them. I struggle with both logic's. lol. |

| If it wasnt for an hour or so long trip with my sis to walmart almost two weeks ago, I would have to say no. BUT.. after reading a thread here where a member bought German Blue Rams on sale there, as fish of the month ( sorry cant remember who it was), I had to check it out. Have not been able to find GBRs anywhere around me for ages, so took a chance and sure enough they had them there. Teeny tiny babies.. but I brought home five of them and they are still doing great. I was surprised. The one and only time I bought fish there. |

| I voted no. With so many LFS close to me, I don't have a need to go to Walmart when I can find a better selection elsewhere. |

| Well, I don't buy anything from Walmart, so no. I don't know if mine sells fish or not, but I hope they don't. From what I've heard on here, the conditions are less than stellar. |

| No walmarts in L.A. (with the exception of a few of the suburbs, etc) but yeah - I haven't been inside a Wal Mart in...10 + years. So I can't attest to anything regarding them. |

| When I first got into fish I bought a so called algae eater (it was a CAE) there. Long story short my tank got infested with ICK after I transferred it into my main tank. As I said this was when I first got into fish and before I used a QT.
I was able to get rid of the ICK without meds using the high temp method but it was a learning experiance and a wake up call for me.
I recently went into the same walmart that I got that CAE from long ago and found that almost all of the fish in their tropical tanks were infested with ICK so badly that it was just inhumane. One of their tanks even had a 4 inch pleco in it that appeared to have been rotting in there for quite a few days. Numerous other tanks had plenty of dead fish in them also.
Its a real shame because with the amount of tanks they have at the walmart by my house it would not take more than an hour or so a day to have all the tanks and fish looking pristine.
Oh well.
I wont buy fish from there again.

I'm surprised nothing is free yet! |

| I voted no because I haven't yet... but if I saw a good deal on something that I wanted that I couldn't find elsewhere I would probably do it. |

| I'm sorry that so many people feel that way, but some of us that like fish really have no other options than use WalMart. I drove 50 miles to the nearest town that had a PetSmart and bought fish because everyone says how bad WalMart is. Well guess what, two of the fish died by the next day. I haven't had that bad of luck with WM. It takes a good hour and twenty minutes to drive home from PetSmart with trafic so I am sure that had a bad effect on the poor fish. How did most of you find your lfs.? |

| Coworkers picked up 2 Oscars who were babies and now are 1 yr old and healthy. I know, we were surprised too!
Im sure that the WalMarts who have knowledgable, caring staff will have good fish and ones that lack that kind of staff would not.
They had also purchased a couple goldfish who died within 24hrs - water parameters were good... So whatever. Ups and downs like any other fish store - they do offer a return policy if you bring back your dead fish with water samples... I know Ive seen some ragged diseased Discus at my LFS which is a very well known shop - so I think its all about staff; not what the actual store is... |

| even tho I do buy fish from walmart, NEVER have I seen an educated employee as far as fish there...most of the time they call someone to assist me from the toy dept (which is right beside the fish) BUT , I do my homework and NEVER purchase something I dont know about prior..but at the same time, ive been to MANY LFS and their employess may as well be working in the toy dept at walmart LOL ...again, its all about educating yourself prior to any purchase of fish no matter where you get them from |
