trip to pet store

I made trip to pet store and they tested my water for free ! The nitrate was high ! Have to Siphon out bottom of water and do 20%water change , so couldn't get the angels yet as though it would kill them ! Did replace the impeller ! was 22.00

What was the PPM of the nitrate?What is your ammonia and nitrite readings?

not sure , they just said was little high, what can i use to clean the top of my tank, don't have anything to clean it with needs to be cleaned so bad ! can i use vinegar and water ? tell me

fishchick, if you can, get your own API liquid master test kit..that way you always know where your tank stands and you will always know how to fix things if something goes wrong with your fish babies...relying on a pet store makes them in control of things not you....are you cleaning the outside or inside? what top of the tank are you meaning?

the glass part where , i open to feed them at night , want to clean that up , has some deposit on it ! gets really dirty !

just take it off and rinse it ..I have sponges that are used just on my tanks without any perfumes or dyes ....on the outside, you can wipe it down with some vinegar and water but not the inside

If you can get that part out for a while you can use CRL or white vinegar and scrub it real good and rinse well.

is that all that u can use is the vinegar or CRL to clean to of tank , still has a little residue on the tank !

Sorry I meant CLR. Uhmm Yeap But CLR you have to be really careful rinsing it really good is a must. That's all I have used.
