clay pot?

hi guys!

i wanted to know if it were ok to put in clay pots (generally used for indoor plants) in an aquarium...they can provide a great place for my blood parrots if possible.

I use the clay pots in 2 of my tanks.
My frogs love it as does my DG. I think they look nice.

As long as they haven't had any fertilizer or insecticide in them they are fine.

Absolutely. Make sure the terracotta pot hasn't been painted or sealed in any way. They are porous and great for the biological filtration in the tank. Once you put them in, they will bubble for a bit. Too, I would suggest a new one.

I have one in my 55g and my BR parrots love it. I would make sure to buy one brand new. Don't use an old one as it may leach chemicals or such into the water.

thanks guys....i bought myself a couple of pots today...going to grind them in a diagonal pattern cutting them into half and placing them inside the tank...going to provide an excellent hiding spot for the parrots...

i am having a lot of aggression problems with two of my parrots...they literally chase everything else off and have cornered two of my parrots to the other end of the tank!

I have clay pots in both my tanks. Lowe's has small ones, like 4inches high, for aquatic plants, with aeration vents on the sides. I
