How often should I be giving it a swish in tank water to dislodge the goobers?

If I scrub my tank walls and algea falls off into the water should I crank the filter and then swish the sponge within a certain amount of time?

I would say once a month...too, you can do it when you're doing a water change and use the siphoned tank water that's in the bucket. You really don't have to swish it inside the tank itself. It's a matter of preference. Just no TAP rinsing

Oh yeah, I was going to swish it in the removed water. Swishing it in the tank would not do me much good, afterall.
