resturant tank

I went to a local resturant and always notice , the tank as a fish lover and as of right now they have 2 oscars , and 2 plecos in a 75 gallon tank ! I don't think they will have enough room to move ! They had oscars last time and they were huge and died ! do u guys think these fish will live ?

no they will not survive for long if they are already huge...their internal growth will continue as their outter growth will not...not to mention if they are not doing every other day water changes, they must be living in super high ammonia ...and I hope they arent eating them ewwwwww lol

The next time you go into that restaurant, tape a sign to the tank that says "We need clean water and more room"! (don't sign it) lol Sad to hear about situations like that. You know they aren't taken care of properly IMO.

Yeah, some restarants are like pet stores. They just don't care as much about the fish as they care about their buissnes.

That's so sad!!..Maybe write a heartfelt letter. Be professional and kind. I seem to do better with letters then trying to spit out the words face to face. That's very sad and maybe you can make a difference. Keep us posted.

a similar situation happened to me once where i saw a giant gourami (8~9inch) and an oscar(7 inch) cramped into a 40 gallon tank at a hotel...the gravel was all dirty and upon close inspection i noticed that the only filteration available was a powerhead filter that too with a rating of only 600L/h....

i did talk to the manager and after a long debate convinced him of taking atleast one of em out and giving them off to a LFS...
the next time i went there i could see only the oscar...
better if not entirely perfect i assume!
