I am cleaning out the inside of the tank to donate to a local library , to give to them ! I want to get it out of my way ! Anyway can i just hose the inside down after i pour all the rocks out out ? I know it needs to have a good fishless cyle before i stock it !

Lucky things, nobody ever donates tanks to me

If you want to PROPERLY clean it, 1 part bleach: 19 parts water, and then rinse till you can't smell bleach.

Otherwise you can just hose it down and it should be fine.

i agree with llama, i'd rinse with the bleach mixture and when you fill it up again make sure you add lots of dechlorinator to kill any leftover bleach

Are you going to care for the tank FOR the library and help them set it up?

Sounds to me like a fishless cycle usually takes 3 - 6 weeks, but it really depends on a lot of factors.

Mine took 31 days, if you have another aquarium with which to seed the tank, it'll take much less.
