| Maddie;+Krist' thanks for asking about him he is not doing good but hanging in there i just wish there was a small miracle for him -that's all it would take just a small one lol bella
-------------------------------------------------------------
Cerianthus; i phoned 3-stores and no-one carries it over here lol and he's doing not so good-i don't think he has too many more days still floating, eating very little, passing stools good and some colour to them and 1-eye closed still.this is day-16 any help would be much appreciated. bella Last edited by Lucy; April 21st, 2009 at 08:54 PM.

| You know, once I saw a thing on TV about a goldfish who had a swim bladder issue. The owner tied a piece of string around him and put a piece of styrafoam (or something else that floated) on the end of the string, to the goldie was kept from sinking.
Could Peek have a swim bladder issue that's keeping him from swimming correctly?
If you still have him supported on a net or something on the corner of the bathtub, try taking him off for a minute and see if he still floats in his side or if he can mantain his balance. |

| Wish I could assist more/better! If cooled temp, keep it cooled. It will benefit if bacterial/funfal infection but do try to keep it steady.
Would you like to try Injection of antibiotics using hypodermic syringe? Only probelm is what antibiotic to use since can not determine what pathogen(s) are involved. And also calculating proper solution (pharmaceutical aspectS) for that body mass isnt easy anymore for me, lol!
Maybe you can research for such info online? How to prepare proper dosage and what to use for your symptoms?
Or you can even contact online Piscine Vet for more accurate info. Last edited by cerianthus; April 21st, 2009 at 03:34 PM.

| Area I used inject was near cuadal peduncle but not at. (2/3 way from gill toward the caudal peduncle).
Question is the proper dosage of What? Perhaps such info can be obtained thru AquaVet!
This is best I can do so far. Wish you luck! |

| I know that you're no-where nearby Bella but I've asked them before about various fish related things. (Mixing medication, ect.) They do treat fish so it might be worth a try giving them a call. The worst they can tell you is that they can't help. If you're looking into actually trying to vaccinate ect. then they'll probably have some advice. http://www.usask.ca/wcvm/vth/general/contact.php
Best of luck and my 3 future goldies sending the best get better vibes at Peek that they can. |

Lucy; at some point i may have to put Peek to sleep as it's coming up to 3-weeks this saturday and he has no life like this. I don't want to think about it-i will try all i can for him-but there is a point where he may be suffering and i don't want that-so far i don't think he is as yet, but i'm sure he will show me when he;s had enough.bella Last edited by Lucy; April 21st, 2009 at 08:51 PM.

| Krist; you don't know how i wish the same lol my neighbours must think i have really lost it asking Peek 'how is mommie's little man lol', if they hear me talking to him and i think that's what keeps him holding on. He responds when i talk to him by wiggling his little fins thanks Krist;-bella |

| Lucy- if your'e there-Peek gave me a very tiny little bit of a fight when i turned him a while ago- i am hoping that is a good sign lol, not much but more then he usually has been doing.Wouln't it be nice to see him recover as this is worse then a child being sick as most children can tell you what's wrong lol and he can't.It's like being on a roller coaster up and down. I am just praying for my little man and hope the Lord see's fit to leave him in my care, and have the pleasure to finish raising him. i am treating him with that indian almond leaf-i have heard lot's of good things about it, so i had ordered it about 3-days ago and it seems less invasive for him at this stage. bella |

| I've heard good things about indian almond leaf also. I think it supposed to have soothing qualities.
My continued prayers and best wishes for you and Peek. |

| Thanks Lucy and this leaf has got really good reviews and Pepe uses it as well, but not as a treatment i don't think-
but it's suppose to be very benifical to fish and not invasive. that is where i first found out about it. so i think it may help him some especially if he is suffering at all. bella |

| Hmm is he still swollen? |
| |
April 24th, 2009
|
| | Fish Keeper
| No;, Red; that is the funny thing about it. He has not been swollen in a while now. I was thinking of treating for bacterial as he seems alright every other way just on his back and 1-eye closed and can't swim lol i think it may be some kind of bacteria internal.i thought about it all night he has been treated for parisites, bacteria foods,i gave him-gel-tec and i am going to use some more of 'Jungle's bacteria food as it seems less invasive. bella |
