Hi All
They say there's no such thing as a stupid question but I may have found one. so feel free to laugh and mock, even talk about me behind my back
Anyways here it is. If you have a quarantine tank fully cycled and lets say for argument sake you had a fish that you just transferred to the main tank. if you just keep running the tank will it stay cycled? or will it eventually need to be redone and if so how long of a time period can the tank remain fishless and cycled

The tank will stay cycled for ever IF you keep providing asource of ammonia to feed the cycle.

wowsers...have you had that happen ? because as jonah said, theres no question thats stupid IMO !!

but what else you can do other than what jonah has said, is take off the filter in the QT tank, and just run it on your main tank at all times...you get two bene's with that...1. extra filtration and 2. an immediate filter thats ready to be put on a qt tank anytime needed ...then just put away or empty the qt tank until needed
