Hi. Good luck with your tank. You also need to know how to properly "clean' a tank. Overcleaning, removing all the water will actually harm your fish because you loose all the good bacteria. I have a friend who used to take all the fish and put them in a bucket so she could drain all the water and wash the gravel. Big no - no. I assuming there is a article at this site on how to maintain your aquarium. I've had tanks over 20 years, they are actually very easy to take care of and never get gross it you understand the nitrogen cycle and maintanance. Also dont over stock--thats a huge beginner mistake. Overstock=poor water quality=dead fish=more algae etc......

Never heard of "super bac" My choice of info is to listen to those that have had EXPERIENCE with the products they suggest.

I can't say whether super bac works or doesn't work. However, I'm like you and more apt to believe members who can back up their statements with experience.

HI: i used Super-Bac-and it worked for awhile then crased my tank-so that's my opion. bella and please don't be rude to our forum.
