Hi, I have a 2.5 acrylic bow tank with one betta in it. The temperature is around 73/74. I need a small heater and was wondering this...
Can I get the hydor mini heater (no temperature setting) and put it under the tank? It would rest on a piece of glass which the tank is on. I just feel it's too small a tank to put it in as you cannot really control it and a bigger heater might be too bulky inside the tank. I'm sure someone has found a solution to the 2.5 gallon betta tank and I was looking around the forums but haven't found anything yet.

I wouldn't reccomend running it out of the water. They easily heat up to about 180 degrees farenheit. Another option is this little guy (click me). It is very tiny and preset to 78.

i have the hydor mini's (the 7.5 watt one that's flat and able to be placed under the gravel) in my 2.5 gallon tanks that works very well
