should i not of fed them a grape?

i fed both tanks of my fish a grape yesterday my hex tank seemed to of loved it and ate most of it. but my 30g tank with the guppies/cory/shark in it dont seem to of touched much and the tank seems to have this layer of slime i guess. i have chucked a apple snail and 2 staghorn snails in there to help clear up from my other tank. what should i do? i do 50 percent changes every day as the tank did not fishless cycle and has been fine up until now. both lots of moss in there look slimy as well. could i be using to much stress coat with my tap water crystals do i even need to use both? any help please? im just about to do a reading on both tanks! thanks! o i dont think this will make any difference but they had a bag of bloodworms between the 2 tanks yesterday i cant see any left but just mentioning as the water they came in went in to!

Grapes have a lot of sugar, and may have fed a bacterial or fungal bloom in the tanks. About all you can do is manually scrape the stuff off and vacuum it up when you do water changes.

Don't worry too much about it, though. It's likely ugly, but shouldn't hurt the fish, as long as it doesn't completely take the tank over.

A lot of people are leery about feeding their fish fruit for exactly this reason. The fruit is usually good for the fish, but it can cause so many problems in the tank. Veggies are more starchy than sugary, and aren't as likely to cause a problem like this, as long as you pull them out when the fish are done eating what they'll eat.

ok thanks ill try not to worry i just done my hex tank reading and my nitrate has shot up through the roof!! my ram was starting to look really good now his colours are fading again . would the nitrate overload be to do with the grape possibly?

ammonia: 0.1mg/l or lower
nitire: 0.1mg/l or lower
nitrate: 75mg/l
pH: 8

is it time to do there first water change? if so how much?

30g tank readings:

0.25mg/l nitrite (im pleased with that its coming down finally!)
25mg/l nitrate
0.1mg/l or less ammonia.

my nitrate has gone up a little bit in this tank, ammonia is the same. nitirte is down a little bit . this is the tank with the slimy sides that has been having 50/50 water changes every day and i will be continuing this for the next week and 2 days until there cycle should! have finished.

when i scrape the sides should i lower there water level so not to send it into the water? i scraped some off and the guppies ate it is that good or bad?
