| What would you stock in a 55 gallon tank? I have a side job coming up(I'm a painter) and the client said he'd throw in his 55 gallon tank with stand and everything plus cash.
I already have a 75 gallon community tank that has:
1 Dwarf gourami
1 Royal pleco
1 otto
11 black neons
7 cherry barbs
6 cardinal tetras
4 cory cats
And I have a 50 gallon mbuna tank that has:
6 yellow labs
6 rusty's
I'm not really sure which way I wanna go with this tank, I thought about discus but that's a ton of money.
What would you do?
I know this is a horrible dilemma to have LOL! |

| What about a tiger barb tank with some other fish that can go well with them? Or an angel fish tank. |

| I'd stock puffers! 2 green spotted puffers, 3 figure 8 puffers, or alot (10 maybe?) of dwarf puffers.
Or goldfish would be great if you don't want to buy a heater. They're super cool and they can live to be over 20! The oldest on record was 49. You could have probably 4 in a 55 gallon. |

| A fresh-start 55g tank for me would end up being a planted neon and invert tank. |

| I'm really leaning back towards discus, but like I said before they aren't cheap and I'm not really sure if they are as hard to keep as is made out.
hmmmmmmmm what to do? what to do? |

Or, take the plunge and make it a SW tank with a GSP and a pair of clowns!
Or maybe a reef tank with a toby and a few other small semi-aggressive fish! |

| If you are thinking of a species only tank... What about a GIANT school of one species of tetra/rasbora? That can look really stunning, especially in a planted tank! |

| I found the fish for my new tank!
Here's a link to them. http://cichlaholic.com/uruguay_list.html#redceibal
Spencer Jack's shop is 15 minutes away from my house!
The only info I have on them right now is that they are very easy to care for and get about 6". I just sent him another e-mail and am waiting for a reply.
I will keep everyone updated once I get more info on them. |

| Mollies! and a couple of scum suckers to keep the tank clean. I also like bala sharks, neon tetras, platies, angel fish, and various other tetras. |

| So a little more info on the centurion, actually I'll just post what spencer had to say when I asked him more about this fish.
ya they really do not get overly big. with old age a male may get close to 8 inch but that would be it. can put at least a dozen in a 55, eventually they will pair off and push each other around a bit though. there is a bit difference on sexes when they get mature and go into breeding, the female is more vibrant and have more markings in her dorsal. pH around 7.8 they came from. pics of their habitat is on the website under uruguayan cichlids 2008. that is the exact spot i got them from. they like a swing in temperature if you want full colour, so at some point of the year bring them down to room temperature or colder if you can and let them rest, when coming out of that they will ignite!
They can be waspy but are pretty much the convict of south america.
Reg temp is around 75. If u can take down to the mid sixties or lower for a couple months a year is good but not crucial. They will live from 45 to 90F Last edited by dmm28; March 21st, 2009 at 05:56 PM.
