My swordtail STILL has that stupid fin discoloration and now its FINALLY starting to fray. It is almost definitley not fin rot because its taken almost a month for it to even start to decay. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY STUUPID FISH? Its getting very annoying going to the pet store every week and buying replacement fish! Fish are SUPPOSED to last around two or three years, but noooo mine have to die a week after purchase. ITS NOT MY WATER! MY CHERRY BARBS ARE FINE< HAVE BEEN FINE< AND WILL BE FINE!

Is it the same store? Maybe try buying somewhere else.

What Lucy said. I am only a beginner, but any story that involves the same actions with the same result . . . seems like you need a new action (i.e. fish store/breed).

The Swordtail Was Fine For Three mOnths Then I Introduced This Platy( I noticed it was unhealthy so i returned it) and then it got tis fin thingymajigger. Now I shop at PetSmart. (where the molly came from but the silver one is okay)

Did you q the platy before adding it to your tank?
For your 2g you can get one of those tetra heaters from walmart, pretty inexpensive.

Just a stupid q from a doddery old fool, but as its taken this long to show up, are you sure one (or more) of your Barbs is not partial to swordtail fin soup?

I doubt that is the case - cherry barbs are very peaceful unlike their larger stripey tiger barb cousins.

I think it may be diseases from the store. How often are you doing water changes?

No I've Had The Barbs Just As Long As The Swordtail And They Are Like Scared Of The Swordtails. There Pretty Shy and Yes They are Peaceful as Blub said
