No, it doesn't. A lot of livebearers always have gravid spots, especially when pregnant. A gravid spot is not a good indicator of when a fish will give birth. It is difficult to determine exactly when a fish will give birth, the best indicators are a large swollen belly, that has squared off at the bottom, and decreased lack of movement, or lack of interest in food. If you are unsure, or think that the fish may be close then put her in the trap and moniter her, this won't harm her.
