Baby Platies

Hi there, everyone I don't know if you remeber me or not but around the 1st of the year I was having problems with my cycling on my tank. During the process one of my platy's ( which sadly is dead now) she had babies and I had three survivors. Well I put the babies in the new tank because they would escape out of the breeding trap. Well they are still in a breeding trap in the big tank which is a 10 gallon tank. Living with them is my male Platy and a Otocinclus catfish. I was wondering at about what age do you think they would be ready to come out of that their about triple the size they were when they were born, and they don't seem to be growing like I think they should. I know it probably hasn't been long enough but if someone could help me that would be great, I feed the babies twice a day with baby fry flakes and they seem to love them they now know when it's feeding time cause they come up to the top of the breeding trap. I don't think their big enough now though because they still look tiny enough where I think my male fish could eat them still. If anyone has information that would be great.... Thanks

Fry grow faster in warmer temperatures so you could try upping the temp of the tank a degree or two, my fry tank is always at 80. My rule of thumb for releasing fry is wait until they're twice the size of the mouths of the other fish.

The temperature is stable at 78 and has been since theyv'e been in their. if I up the temp where it hurt my other 2 adult fish?

No they'll be fine, although 78 is a good temp and upping it probably won't make much difference. If the fry have survived this long then they'll probably be fine in the net until they're big enough to be released.
