beat up firemouth

So I recently purchased a firemouth cichlid and convict. I had them quarantined for 5 days. I recently introduced them to my 55 gallon tank with my green terror and pleco. When I put the firemouth in I noticed that the convict had done a number on him in the fin area. The Q tank was only ten gallon. They have all gotten along great in the 55 but am curious how the best way to help this little guy along the healing process. I used stress coat and aquarium salts anything else I can do to help.

P.S. Sorry if i ramble or have mis-spellings I had to proof read this alot I have a knee injury (cartilage and tendon problems) and the dr has me pretty well medicated.

I would re-quarantine the moth until its healed unless you want them to do a number on him again during lights out. They can sense he is injured.

convicts are extremely aggressive fish, with something as peaceful as a firemouth you're almost guaranteed to have some kind of issues. i'd put the firemouth in the QT for at least two weeks or so, but when you put him back in the tank, put the convict in the QT for a little while so that he can establish himself and hopefully not get picked on anymore.

i have not had anymore problems with the fish attacking him. they have all gotten along well and his fins seem to be growing back very well. They almost all have white new growth and several are completely healed. Thanks for all the help.
