S.O.S Tiger barb about to die!

I just got 8 new tiger barbs, one is very very small. this tiger barb has ben sucked to the filter two times and cant seem to stay up right! I dont think he will survive the night in my 45 gallon. my ten gallon has my sis betta in it and i dont have a divider yet...oh and i have no breeder boxs...plus the betta cant move tanks(it was in a one gallon but i "stole" it from my 10 year old sis. WHAT CAN I DO?

P.S:As I typed this I had to stop and net him back to the safe side of the tank two times.

see if you can find some filter floss, nylon rinse out well, or some sponge to put over the filter intake...small healthy fish shouldnt get sucked up and should be strong enough to get off it...even plastic clean container that you can float in the tank could help also..goodluck!

Maybe net him & just leave the net floating at the top of the water?

Poor little guy... Unless your net is really big I wouldn't leave him in there too long, I think a tupperware like Shawnie suggested would be better... Can you adjust the intake on the filter? And usually a healthy fish can escape the wrath of the filter, I would watch him for diseases and have a quarantine tank set up, especially since he's new. It may be that they're all sick, but the littlest is weakest. Good luck, keep us posted.

Put the Betta in the floating tupware with holes and put the barb in the Betta tank with stress coat for injury. Make sure the tank is tested and free of toxins especially ammonia and that there is a air wand and raise the temp high normal.

Well...both tanks a not completely cycled...the 45 has some ammonia and my ten gallon is cycling with the betta because my sis had it in a never-water-change one gallon. I found a grape bowl hes in that now. I have put prime in the 45g tank so that should help.

Yeah those impeller blades I'm sure was no circus ride, but he's young and might pull through. Make sure no one mistakes the the grape bowl water as garbage, I don't think he will survive a trip through disposal land...
