New Fish!

Hello all,

Well after this:urgent: gold speckled pleco is sick little incident, I decided I needed more fish to keep my glofish company.

The new lineup is:
2x Green Glofish
3x Red Glofish
1x Yellow Algae Eater
1x Sunbirst Platy
1x Fancy Guppy

The fancy guppy looks pretty lonely and just kinda floats around at the top. Not sure what's up with him, but the algae eater is hard at work and the platy is mixing with the glofish just fine.

Any tips on what might be up with the guppy? Water levels are okay, a little bit of ammonia (.25) but I tossed in some prime and will do a water change tomorrow.

you probably should have cycled the tank completely before adding more fish...he could be sick from the ammonia and the daily changes are a must as we said in your other thread you werent cycled before adding the newbies so now its really going to be much harder while adding more bioload to the existing

I dunno, he was kinda like that when I put him in the tank. Doing a 50% water change now. Poor guppy isn't moving very much. I put him in a dish and poured a little prime in.

Just lost him.

I'm beginning to think I'm no good at keeping fish...

You just have to take your time. Believe me I know its hard to hold off on getting a fish when you need that LFS "fix" really bad. We have all been there many times.

Sometimes I have to fight that urge to "do something" to my tanks. Sometimes it's best to just do nothing for a while. That's when it helps to get on here and just read about fish for a while.
