Cory Spaz!

I purchased 6 Albino Cories and I thought they were usually at the ground but when I brought them home they were non-stop swimmers everywhere around the tank it was CRAZY! I don't know if there is something wrong with them at the LFS they were all calm and on the ground and now they are everywhere going off the walls!

ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 0

-Did small water change ^

I've had 3 pandas for 2 weeks now, and the first week they were like you say all over the place. This past week they've been really quiet and hang out together in the middle of the tank, then go do a bit of exploring, but overall about a quarter of the activity they had when I first got them. Never having had cories before I thought the spazzing was normal and now they were sick! I guess it's kind of the other way around, they were just a little stressed and now have calmed down a lot.

Congratulations on your new fishies #’s!
I wish my cories were more active like that. They just peck around for food all the time and once in a while dash lightning fast up to the surface and back down.

My cories were like that when I first got them to, now they are still quite active but not so hyper like they were. After a water change they go over everything in the tank and make sure I did it right...lol

Generally speaking corys will go crazy for the first few days or maybe weeks, then they will settle down

I'm glad to hear about other cory cats doing the same thing! I thought they were sick or something. Now they are half swimming and half on the ground.

I used to see them sitting there almost motionless sometimes and think something was wrong with them until I realized that's just what they do sometimes.

It might be due to them being in a new tank & water parameters, more space, all my corys were very active when i first got them but then they calm down some what.

When I had them, they where always total crazy spazes for the first few days - weeks, but calmed down (some where acctualy like statues) eventually.
