Australia's temperature depending where you are maybe contributing to this. place some ice cubes in a bag and put them in the tank this should slowly cool your tank down for the short term also try avoiding direct sunlight and turn the light off.

Welcome to FishLore!

The tank temp shouldn't get above the temp in your house if the heater is turned off. The lights could be raising the temp a little.

You could cool the tank off by floating a bag with some ice in it in the tank. You don't want to let the ice melt into the tank, since the ice has not been conditioned and could contain chlorine etc.

Freezing water in small pop bottles also works, be sure to leave enough room in the bottle for expansion so they don’t split when the water freezes. You can keep 2 or more bottles in the freezer and just keep reusing them.

This might not be a long term solution for you as it can be inconvenient. In which case you may want an aquarium cooler. Although effective in keeping aquariums cool they tend to be on the expensive side.
