Fin regrowth

So I finally removed the 3 aggressive serpae tetra from my tank after they've left a silver dollar with almost no tail fin and then nipped 3 out of 4 brand new white clouds. Will they heal and regrow? Is there anything I can do to help the process?

poor thing, i think just really clean water and maybe some stress coat (not sure about compatibility with silver dollars so hopefully someone else can answer that) for the fins. I have a betta with really bad tears in his fins from wal-mart, and just clean water seems to be doing the trick, it's grown over a centimeter in just a few weeks!

stress coat is great and prestine water as alex said...water changes should be done a bit everyday with the stress coat..it takes about 3 weeks but totally posible

So far, the white clouds are zipping all over the tank and the silver dollars dont seem to mind them at all. I got 2 more white clouds to replace the tetras today.

Vita-chem is good at promoting fin regrowth. A little pricey though.

It might not grow back because the serpae tetras could have bitten a part of the fin that will never grow back, but most of the time they do grow back! Good Luck!

Update

I know this is an old post but I'm happy to report that my little picked on silver dollar has grown his tail back! He's still the smallest of the 4 but very lively and healthy!
