How do u clean a 1 gallon aquarium with gravel? Its the only tank I can use for fish i need to isolate. Its too small for a siphon hose + vaccum thing so do i just get a siphon hose and hover it over the gravel like u do for sand substrate?

if you're just using it for QT, i would just put the gravel that you want to use in it in a nylon hose and put it in your larger aquarium along with the filter media that you plan to use for the QT, then just set it up whenever you need it, that way you won't really have to worry about cleaning it

yup i use a turkey baster as well works good, walmart like 3 or 4 bucks..

You don't actually need gravel in q-tank. I in fact recommend not having gravel in a q-tank. Without gravel you can keep the tank spotless, important for ill fish. Also having a glass bottom makes it easy to inspect your fish’s waste for signs of internal parasites. Larva from other parasites will also be easier to detect in a bare bottom tank.
