Sulking Fish

Hi everyone,

My Black Moor now has air bubbles in his poo, I was told that this was constipation and not too feed him for a while....

I did try to fast him, but he was such a grumpy fish!!

All he did was just sit at the bottom of his tank front of me right where I could see him..

I did feed him peas, but that did not take his fancy, making him sulk even more...

He is happy now he is back to his flakes and minni sticks with blood worm mmmmm

Is it ok to let him sulk?? and is it normal for a fish to sulk?

He still has air bubbles in his Poo.

Kim

Hey Kim,

Here is some info i found while i was racking my brain

Here is the info : Sometimes it's normal for fish to have long poop. The poop color reflects what they've eaten. Whe poop floats to the top it means there are air bubbles in it. it's normal once in a while to see floating poop but it should not be consistent. Pellet shaped poop is best. You should only be feeding them once or twice a day at the most. Three times is ok if you feed less the other two times.
When a fish gets floaty poop, I usually give them one or two shelled peas (cooked) and it seems to do the trick. Also, depending on the age of your fish, the older they get, the less protein the require in their diet. Most commercial foods are high in protein as well as grains. Grains are totally unnecessary in their diet. The reason there's so much grains is because they are used as fillers. It's like eating nothing but bread. Fresh vegetables are always good for your fish. Zucchini, green beans, collard and mustard greens and kale are packed with vitamins that are beneficial for your fish.

I Hope this Helps You

Matt

P.S. This information is straight from my brain and is not copyright
