Pristella/X Ray Tetra or Cardinal Tetra?

I can't decide on adding a small school of pristella tetras or a small school of cardinal tetras. By small school, I mean 5 or 6. Or glowlight tetras.

Which will look better in my tank?

55 Gallon

- 10 Harlequin Rasboras
- 1 male betta( he's find by the way, rarely aggressive, and even when he is, he can never catch the rasboras, so he gave up a long time ago)
- 1 male brittlenose pleco
- 1 rainbow shark

- heavily planted
- 2 caves
- many floating plants

So would 5 or 6 Pristella tetras look better in this aquarium, or 5 or 6 cardinal tetras?

Thank you.

I would go for the cardinals although its a matter of personal choice, as for the betta i would recommend separating him in his own tank, it would limit any aggression or stress especially since you have a rainbow shark.

I have 10 cardinals in my tank that look stunning against the green plants. It is a matter of personal preference but I think the pristellas (being transperent-ish) would blend into the plants a bit and be a not as striking display. But it's up to you -both fish are beautiful.

to me cardinals, they are major stand outs in any tank!!!

Personal choice but Cardinals all the way for me. but why only 5 or 6?
In well established, planted 55G tank, I would put 20 or 30 Cardinals at once as long as the batch is good batch.. Believe me,it will look AWESOME, especiaslly with 50/50 and/or Actinic lighting on top of Plant bulb(s).
HAD FEW Hundreds in 90/125G along with other Tetras such as Rummy nose, etc.

Are you concerned about adding too much bioload at once. 20-30 Cardinals seems alot but can be easily handled w/ proper testing and pwc in well planted 55G..
