bleaching a tank

ive been cleaning the heck out of it for more than 2 hours with bleach but im not sure if im getting all the bleach out... is there any methods i can use to get the bleach completely out of the tank? or any way i can tell its all out??

other than rinsing in hot water over and over, then smelling it, you can fill it with extra dechlorinator when its time for fill up ..let it run for 24 hours and you should be allset

i'd just leave it in the bathtub for a while, depending on how large it is, and let the shower run, that's what i do, and it'll help make sure that there aren't any leaks or anything

My method for tank bleaching is easy and works.

Depending on size of tank ( most of mine are too big to fit in a bath tub) fill water to max and use 1 cap full of bleach for every 10gallons of water.

Let soak outside for 24 hours.

Aftear soaking period, siphon out majority of water then tip to side to ease remaining water out.

Let air dry another 24 hours.

Done!

Done it 3 times now and has worked well every time in that the tank has been thoroughly cleaned and all the bleach is gone. If you can't smell the bleach any longer, then you have done a good job.
