55gal tank suggestions

we have already started up our 20galon tank. in a few moths we are thinking of getting a 55gal tank. I am starting my research early to cover up for my past mistakes. sooo.
We are thinking of making this a chiclid 9 i don't now how to spell it)
we are looking into some african chiclids. any suggestions or a cookie cutter for this?
Also we might get a pleco. how big would it grow in this tank?
ty.
does any one have a price quota for this?

cichlid is how you spell it unfortunately i'm not very familiar with them.

as far as plecos, there are many different varieties that all grow to various sizes. if you're getting a common pleco, a 55 would be the BARE minimum, so i'd suggest maybe getting bristlenose plecos or something like that, they only get to about 5 inches.

As for the pleco - it depends on the type. A common reaches 18" and needs a 75+ gal. tank. There are plenty of pleco species that stay small; bristlenose, clown, rubbernose.

You could do a mbuna species only tank (African Cichlids).

The link below is a thread created by one of our fellow fishlore members its a great thread for people who are thinking of starting a cichlid tank.
