Stocking Suggestions

Ive had my 55 gallon tank setup since Dec 26th with fish in it from day 1 as suggested by the folks at petsmart. Right now it has 6 Giant Danios in it and 1 Rubberlip Pleco. Ive always tested the water everyday and i havnt seen any nitrites or nitrates yet...but my ammonia was always between 0-0.25. I was also doing either 25 or 50% water changes everyday. I finally found Tetra SafeStart locally here and after reading good things about it on the internet i decided to give it a try. So on Jan 22nd I added a bottle of Tetra SafeStart hoping it will cycle my tank.

In the meantime im trying to decide on how im going to stock the tank. Ive walked through petsmart and looked at all the fish and the ones that i really like are the ones labeled as "semi aggressive".

The fish i really like and hope to put in my tank are the
-bala shark
-Redtail Shark
-Giant Danio(Have 6 already)
-Angelfish
-Rubberlip Pleco(Have 1 already)
-Black Ghost Knife Fish

I havnt decided on any final numbers yet and since this is my first tank i was hoping somebody here could help me figure out some numbers and maybe show me some different semi aggressive fish that i dont know about yet. Thanks.

A Bala Shark needs a 90 gal. tank to thrive, and a BGK would probably do better in a 75 gal, as they get quite large. The others would probably do great in a 55 gal.

Yeah, the Bala gets large. But the rest of your idea sounds great! Maybe a cleanup crew of 3-5 corys or 3 yoyo loaches for the bottom. I have 2 pictus catfish in my 55 gal. They are a fun active peaceful fish!!! They get about 5-6 inches. I have them in with 3 angelfish. If you are interested in a catfish.

So the bala sharks and ghost knife fish are out.

So im left with the 6 Giant Danios and 1 Rubberlip Pleco i already have. Then im thinking about adding 1 Redtail shark. And a few Angelfish. Is it best to buy angel fish in pairs?

What about black mollies or clown loaches? Would those be okay with the fish im thinking about getting? Thanks

Black mollies prefer brackish water and clown loaches need a group of 5 to be happy, but as far far as compatibility, they are all compatible.
