Rock algae

I have black rocks in my tank (about 6 weeks old) and there has been a reddish algae growing on the plants and decorations in the tank, my otto is dealing with that but its now appearing on some of the rocks and he hasnt shown any interest in cleaning those. What if anything should I do about it?

Tx, Bear

Ottos are great little algae eaters, I love them! If you are also feeding them with algae wafers, or fresh veggie they will more than likely eat the wafers or veggie first then be too full to get much off the tank. If you have plenty of algae already growing in the tank don't supplement their diet much with other stuff. Also, they really like to work in groups. Maybe an addition of just a few more (2 or 3) would be better? Try not to over feed your others, too many nutrients in the tank with just create a haven for excess algae growth. Hope that helps, glad your with us on FishLore!
